David Nelson-Hospers

I heard from David Nelson-Hospers in Amherst, MA. a couple of days ago. He says he's super lazy. I know the feeling. I like these pictures.

Alexander Binder

Dear Dimitri,
I spent several weeks in the dreamlike landscape of Iceland this
summer. The photographic result (a new series of works called "Traum")
is now online and I'd like to invite you to have a first look at:

alexanderbinder.de/html/traum_i.html
alexanderbinder.de/html/traum_ii.html

At the moment I am looking for people who might be interested in blogging, publishing or exhibiting this stuff - if you know someone, I'd be glad if you could forward this mail. And of course I am really looking forward to your feedback!

All the best from the Black Forest,
Alex

Absolutely fucking... wow.

I Drove from Brooklyn to Chicago to Sleep on Pete Halupka's Floor

This past weekend Benford Lepley, Bobby Doherty, Jake McNulty, Lawrence Martinez, and I piled into my shitty '97 Honda Accord and drove nineteen hours through an epic fucking blizzard with the help of insomnia, trace amounts of will power, and a good soundtrack. We landed in Chicago at 10 AM on friday morning to be greeted by Pete Halupka's bloody hand and a large assortment of unexpected guests from all over the country. We all took the same pictures, we all ate the same pizza, and we all drank the same beers.

William Hundley Blogs Berlin for BOTY

A while back we told you about the show that William Hundley was having at Hunchentoot in Berlin. He went ahead and put together this guest-blog about his trip for you. He took a ton of pictures - some aren't work-safe, meaning it looks like he had a great time. Enjoy!

BERLIN
Words and photos by William Hundley

this head did not have a body.

this body did not have a head.

First night of installing at Hunchentoot. I brought 18x24" prints and we hung them to the walls with magnets.

MAGNETS!

I also brought a shitty 35mm snapshot camera with me loaded with Black and white film...

Alexanderplatz for hangover brunch

Finishing up the installation...

Downstairs was the Little Naked Person Storage series and the DRACO fabric

There was some marathon in town...... not what I was expecting.

Window shopping.....

Saw this in a gallery/bookstore, there were video projections on the other side of the room [Anyone know who this is by?]

This place was off Torstr Str.

Miss Van

Time to get ready for the night.....

Dark bars...

strange room decorations

Explored the Circus hotel, we really liked staying there.

Which one do you like better?

How do you really know when a shirt is clean enough to wear?

Went to an art fair PREVIEW BERLIN and saw this (among many other things)

Also went to Art Forum Berlin and saw this veener shooter (among other things)

So many interesting works around every corner, I shot tons of photos -- too many to show here.....

gotta love Erwin Wurm
Our heads were so full of imagery from 2 art fairs in one day... spinning

Our lips are magnets

After a long journey home I decided to stick my head in a toaster

Thanks,
William Hundley

Notice: Hunchentoot gallery in Berlin is having a call for entries for Zappa influenced works...

Ana Kras: New Words & Photographs

I've been following Ana Kras on flickr for a little while now and she never disappoints. In a recent exchange, she began to tell me about her trip to the west coast this past summer. She shot a bunch of photos and never showed them to anyone. Here we have them, with descriptive text included! Glad we can be the first to share them with you.

Josh had his wet surf clothes on and the light in our room was on, too.

From that hill up you could see some celebrity's house, I just don't remember whose.

I hope for your patience.

A dog became a stone sculpture with stone eyes once.

Someone gave us a bad recipe to put a opened beer can in chicken's ass before we put it on a grill.

I love how this blue bush in Portland matches his blue shoe-bottoms.

Treat yourself to Ana's flickr and website for more amazing images!
